There is strong chances you already heard of all those freebies programs sprawling all over the net, if you hadn't, probably you wouldn't be on this site right now.
First, let me present myself. I live in Quebec, Canada. I am still a student and my incomes are, let's say, pretty limited. Altough, a few years ago I've heard of those 'incentives freebies' sites that were giving all sort of goods over the internet. I hadn't heard much of it that already I was absolutly convinced that those were pure rip-offs. But now, at the time I'm writting this, I've heard that those sites had become very popular (for receiving tons of invitation from people in desperate need of referrals —by the way, don't do this— in order for them to complete their freebies requirements) so I decided to suscribe at one of these, and to see if it works. The worse I could have lost would have bene time and spare bucks.
So here I go, searching for a site with good testimonials (visit that page in the Navigation bar) and that looks well done (but this is surely not the best thing to do to be sure of a site's safeness.)
Among all the sites I visited (Incentives Network, Trainn Network, FreeTimeWaste.com (kidding), etc... )
the one that really seemed to score is the UK site Freebie Jeebies, from the FJ Network (They're having alot of sites under the same domain. i.e.: mobiles.freebiesjeebies, hdtv.freebiejeebies, gift.freebiejeebies...). From all the freebie sites I looked at, it is the ony one authenticated and tested by both WOT (Web Of Trust) and McAffee SiteAdvisor. The only other one that looks alike is Apple-Incentives.
I subscribed at Apple Freebie Jeebies on February 14th, 2009 at 3:40pm. I will try to obtain a 18Gig iPhone 3G for 19 referrals. The offers on FJ are available only to UK/US & CAN residents.
**LET'S TRY WITH FREEPAY** (added on February 15th) : The reason why I subscribed to Freepay is because getting 19 referrals for my Apple Freebie Jeebies account seemed to be a quite hard job. So I searched further and found out that most items listed on Freepay sites only need 5 referrals. Also you don't need to have a credit card, many offers can be completed with your cellphone. Altough, the only bad point of Freepay is that you have 120 days to complete the whole process of getting your reward (but that appaers to be quite realistic.)
I subscribed at Freepay Gifts on February 15th, 2009 at 1:45am. I'm going in for an iPod Touch 16Gig for 5 referrals. Freepay's open to everyone, starting from 13 years-old and over, all around the world!
The first page you land on afer subscription often asks you to complete an offer; there's a couple of options to chose from with price range from 0 to 10$. I wouldn't always choose the one that is been free because sometimes they can really be an hassle, so I'd rather choose the Quickbooks Simple Business Kit offer for the modest sum of 1.95$
Keep in mind that you have to give your credit card number to third party companies. If you're not comfortable with the fact of giving out your credit card informations, you can always use a prepaid credit card. In such a case, check this out. Also, some freebie sites, such as Freepay, allows you to complete offers only with your cellphone.
You only need to complete one offer. Then you go on for the referrals quest! In my case, I need to refer 19 persons in order to have a 16Gig Iphone (on FreebieJeebies) and 5 persons for an iPod Touch 16Gig on Freepay.
I've come over that little picture that seems to represent most of what Incentives Freebies are about.
You'll have to work to get those referrals. The bigger the reward you chose is, the more refs you'll need, and thrust me, it is not that easy to convince people that this is not a scam. Nice news: unlike whats written in the above image, you only need to complete 1 offer in order to move on to the next step. YEA!
Here's an excellent video explaining how this scene works.
''Mother! What can I do to get more 'Green' referrals?''
1- You're active on the web? Add your referral link in your forum signatures. Don't post it everywhere! People will want to hang you if you start spamming all over with your 'referral crap'as they might say.
2-Make a website, like this one, and post your link on it. You may use freewebs.com. But don't you copy my me!
3- Ever heard of Conga Lines? Here's a basic representation of what it is: There's always a 'Conga Leader', who's referral link is clearly identified. You can join a Conga by becomming the Conga Leader's referral. Then, when that individual collected enough 'Greens', the 2nd person takes the 1st position, the 3rd takes the 2nd place and so on... Anything4Free covers a wide variety of Incentives Freebies Websites and builds up alot of Conga lines. Visit their forums for further information.
4- Distribute pamphlets or business cards explaining how are earning free iPods, TVs, Consoles, etc... Vistaprint.com are having a promotion right now: they're giving out 250 custom-designed businnes cards (you can also have a stamp for 2$). All you have to pay is the shipping fees.
5- Find other people like you. Head over at Exceem Forums for other tips to achieved your desperate goal.
6- Edit your nickname in your Instant Messenger. But the chances you look like an idiot are... let's say... big.
you might find funny that there's 21 links for my referrals on this page... oh wait that makes 22.
